All terrain vehicles: Types of atvs

TYPES OF ALL TERRAIN VEHICLES An All Terrain Vehicle (ATV), Quad bike, three wheeler, four-track, four-wheeler, or quadricycle as defined by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), is a vehicle that travels on low pressure tires, with a sit stranded by the operator along with handle bars for steering control. These are not used on roads because they Do not meet road road safety standandards. These vehicles are easy in handling, they have a tight turning radius for easy turning around. They have got straight forward easy mantainess as compared to cars. They are versatile and can be used in many kinds of terrain such as forests, iced surface, sand, mud, different weather conditions etc. They come in different shapes and sizes, with 4,3,6 or 8 wheels. ATV engines are measured in cubic centmetres, or CC. Here is a list of the types of All Terrain Vehicles we are going to learn about today: 1.Utility atvs 2.Sports atvs 3.side by sides 4.children's atvs 1.Utility atvs: These are types of vehicles designed for high performance of heavy duty activities such as farming, touring and camping. Examples include Polaris 450 HO. These are bigger heavier and much more comfortable to ride as compared to sport all terrain vehicles. They have got a short travel suspension. Are easier to repair and new electric atvs are easy to use. They can be used in desert areas. Examples include the Polaris® Sportsman® 450 HO., Yamaha Raptor 700., Honda® Recon 250, Yamaha Kodiak 700. 2.Sports ATVs: These are small light weight, two wheel vehicles that accelerate more quickly and run at speeds of about 80mphs. They have a manual transmission and can handle both the track and trail. They stretch in size from 250cc to 700cc. They have heaps of suspension to handle thumps and turns. They are designed to be light and are much faster than utility atvs. Examples include of 10. Yamaha Raptor 660/700, of 10. Honda TRX450R, of 10. Suzuki LT250R and LT500R, of 10. Kawasaki KFX700 3.Side BY Side, UTV, SSV, SxS or Rhinos etc: This is an off-road car equipped with a steering wheel, bucket, or bench, seating belts, foot pedals and a roll bar or cage. They come with an All Wheel Drive - 4WD and some are 2WD. These are two to six person off-road vehicle. They are designed for rougher terrain, hauling and more high speed activities. Their design resembles gold vehicles suspensions identical to amusement quads. These types of vehicles will allow you to reach regions that may not be able to be reached by ordinary vehicles. 4. Children's ATVs: First a child should first use a toy ATV before getting using to a real ATV, Toy ATVs are very light, some battery powered and very slow. Once a child learns the basic skills needed to run an ATV, they can now move up to ATV 50cc gas motor. This ATV is usually slow and low, with or without suspension, some equipped with a governer to control maximum speed to keep a safe riding speed. The minimum age requirement for a child to use a children ATV is 16 years of age to ride ATV unsupervised. Riders above 18 years of age are required to wear a helmet and eye protection requirement. Parents are advised to keep children on a 50cc ATV until the child is about 6 years old and older therefore children under 6 years are not recommended. A 50cc ATV rides at 30mph.
