What is a water fountain?
The term fountain in Latin is mentioned as fon and fontis meaning a source or spring is an architecture which pours water in basin or and also jets into air to provide drinking water. It is also designed to create a decorative or designer effect.
Fountains existed 3000BC in Mesopotamia, and Greece and Rome. Italy introduced the first mechanical fountain in the 15th century. In the 16th and 17th centuries, fountains where found in the Italian gardens as well as Roman and Tuscan gardens.
Water fountains provide fresh water for animals to drink and bath. And also prevents stagnation keeping water fresh and healthy for drinking. Natural fountains also provide water for us as well for so many purposes.
Water fountains provide for us water that is cool,they also reduce air pollution. These are some of the fountain accessories you may need: Salt chlorine generators, pool covers, pool heaters, diving boards and slides, pool ladders, stairs, and rails, waterline tile, automated controls, automatic vacuum cleaners.

Indoor fountains:
They are used to make a statement of prosperity and wealth. They create a soothing and calming effect in a room. According to Fengu Shui, they create good fortune. They humidify a room when water splashes and lifts light water particles. It is creativity to have this type of fountain placed the rooms east, south east and north positions, that are referred to as areas of health, family, wealth, money,your carrier.
Garden fountains:
These are connected to a water supply. Garden fountains that are filled with a hose use a pump that re-circulates water through the pump. The best position is the middle of the garden of in between two paths for formal garden settings, while for informal, the corner and a good chosen path are a good position.
Spouting fountains:
These are the most dramatic fountains. They have a pipe which spikes water up in a plume like way. These can be added to water body sources like a pond, swimming pool. They consist of a large enough reservoir atop a column with equally-spaced orifices. The Kenyon apparatus was invented by E. S. Ritchie, it was used to relate the velocity of discharge with the depth of fluid. Examples of Spouting fountains include
Japanese fountains:
This type of fountain consists of a segmented tube usually bamboo pivoted to one side of its balance point. Kanazawa Fountain Clock (Kanazawa, Japan), is one of the areas with these types of fountains. This type of fountain is also used in gardens. A trickle of water into the upper end of the tube accumulates and eventually moves the tube's centre of gravity past the pivot, causing the tube to rotate and dump out the water.
Swimming pool fountains: These produce a cool humidity and cold water when the sprinkled water falls back into the swimming pools water. The water can cool down to very cold temperatures. Simple fountains can be added to the return jets. They make a beautiful anesthetic scenery in a home, and the water is also kept clean.
Pondless/disappearing fountains: the water reservoir is hidden under ground. Landscape designers use pond less features near a patio or long path to make a unique visual and add soft sounds to water.
Wall fountains: These are compact, electricity powered contractions. They are good for decor at home or office. They send water in a cascade down a flat front surface. They all have a no-frills and no-fuss method of circulating water. Some wall fountains have art incorporated into them. They are commonly used in homes, gardens to add a sense of fun and decoration. Cascading fountains:
These range from a few to multiple levels of Cascading water. The multiple water falls release gashes of natural water sound good for relaxation. This type will also look good in your garden, Patio, deck etc. The water usually falls from one level to another. Typical ones have 3 levels, the top part being the area where water flows from, the basins usually maximize in size where the highest is the smallest and the lowest is the largest.
Self contained fountains: This do not require water to be plumbed in, but water is recycled from either a pond or hidden reservoir known as a sump. They are usually used in decks and patios. They are easy to manage because they have an internal plumbing structure that keeps its self going.
